Governance & Administration:

The Governing Body of Tarakeswar Degree College ceased to function with effect from 12 May 2026, pursuant to Order No. 693-Edn(CS)/4C-06/2026 dated 12 May 2026 issued by the Department of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal.
Subsequently, in terms of Order No. 725-EH/O/CS/4C-06/2026 dated 22 May 2026, the Government of West Bengal appointed Dr Moumita Mondal, Deputy Director of Public Instruction, as the Administrator of Tarakeswar Degree College. Ms. Mondal assumed charge on 22 May 2026 and shall exercise the powers and perform the functions of the Governing Body in accordance with the provisions of the West Bengal Universities and Colleges (Administration and Regulation) Act, 2017, until the reconstitution of the Governing Body or until further orders of the competent authority.
